A nice interview with a blizz rep here. He states that if anyone wants to leave feedback about linux and possibly making Blizzard games run natively on linux, then to leave a response with your thoughts in it as they will be checking back on this topic for feedback.

About time, they said they didnt want to develop for linux for a while but its good they are now open for opinions.
i dont care if they make the games open source but at least linux compatibility will be good.

man starcraft ate up a large part of my childhood. starcraft 2 looks like its gonna be off the hook.

i would love it if i never had to boot up my windows partition ever again.

if they'd open source lost vikings I'd be up for adding more features to the gameplay and probably redo all the graphics. Well as long as there is some one here that likes to help out :KS

Exactly my thoughts. The only reason for windows on my computer is so I can run games when they first come out and might not work with WINE yet.

Making their games open source I'm not too concerned about, its really just making a native linux client. If a giant like Blizzard does it, you can bet that other companies will start following suit soon after.

And I moved from windows to try and escape my wow addiction ;)

Still good news that a developer is willing to listen

Drop ActiveX and move to OpenGL. Make native clients. End world hunger.

I think they should be able to run natively on linux but right now wine is doing just fine with me and WoW. WAy better FPS than on windows or a mac.

I agree, I'd like to see the new games native on linux much more than I would the older titles. I think it would rake in a bunch more money for blizzard too.

Isn't it amazing how many people have signed that and still no action by gaming companies. I mean, WoW has a linux client but Blizz just refuses to release it, c'mon guys!

Yeah I can understand games that are Windows only, but Blizzard games are OS X and Windows, when you port a game to OS X it becomes much easier to put to Linux because Linux and OS X share the same graphics API (OpenGL). I mean even if they release a completely "unsupported" binary for their games, that would be amazing.
