Keyboard shortcut/command to turn microphone on and off?

Hello,

I need to turn my microphone on and off to listen to sound via my TV card as it is really old one and doesn't support it directly.

Currently I have to turn it on or off using the sound properties which is a major drag if you ask me.

My question is is there just a command I could use to turn the mic on or off which I could later set to be a keyboard shortcut for ease?
