View Full Version : [kubuntu] Problem on autostart of squeezeslave on boot

Hi,

I'd like to start squeezeslave on Kubuntu 710 boot process...

I've made script in /etc/init.d/squeezeslave (attached below). I've added it with

update-rc.d squeezeslave defaults 99

It should start squeezeslave, that will wait for possible connection to slimserver... But, it never runs on boot... It works if I do:

/etc/init.d/squeezeslave start

after boot manually from command line... It also works if I start it from command line. But doesn't start on boot...

Can I somehow check what is going on ? Can I increase debugging info in this script, so I can catch reason for not starting ?

Not sure if this will help, but I just got it working on my Ubuntu 8.10 system.

I needed to add the following flags to start-stop-daemon in do_start:

--background --make-pidfile


If I didn't use --background, I couldn't get squeezeslave to run in the background.

My DAEMON_ARGS are slightly different, they are:

DAEMON_ARGS=" -s -r3"

Everything else is pretty much the same as you've got. My squeezeslave version is 0.8-12
