Hi,
Is it possible to have installed GNOME and KDE and choose the Desktop during booting?
Thanks

Indeed it is - if you have one of the variants you can install the others by either

sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop
sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop
sudo aptitude install xubuntu-desktop
sudo aptitude install edubuntu-desktop

When you get to the login window - use sessions to change what you wish to run

Yes, I used to do it all the time, but now have settled on a plain and simple gnome desktop. I did prefer kde but now find it a bit OTT, though that is just my opinion, of course.

I'd have to agree with you ajgreeny - I fiond gnome overpowering sometimes so have fluxbox as well.

What I would say to fmeneuhe is that if you do add kde to gnome or gnome to kde then you will have both sets of apps in menus.

Much better I think to install one and run the othere through a virtual machine until you're sure of which you prefer.
