Hi I am very exited and waiting eagerly for the 8.10 release!!
I already have the 7.10 installed along with windows xp on my PC
But now I want something different.

Here’s what…
I want to take out ubuntu from the Internal HDD altogether and install it on a portable Pen drive making it persistent(hoping that’s what its called when your updates as well as preferences are saved and implemented on reboot) I have a transcend 8 GB and also wish to have some space to carry important few documents with the pendrive. I want to install a few apps (VLC and some basic media apps) and also want to have a ext2 drive on the HDD for other large files. Do I have to get java in 8.10 manually as I need to program?

Is this feasible and how do I go about it(though I have read about how to make a portable installation persistent)

Am I asking for too much???
