Whatever happened to doom9.org??

I used to love reading the updates regarding av development/news from doom9.org. The site still exists, however hasn't been updated since 6/29/2008. Any ideas on what happened to the author?

In-leui of doom9, I seem to be migrating to http://arstechnica.org along with slashdot.org. Any other interesting sites anyone would recommend?
