I am having an EXTREMELY hard time getting Java on my laptop .
It just wont install right . A license agreement NEVER comes up . I thought
I might have had it right this time , but when I tried opening Synaptic ,one time I got a message saying I didnt have administrative rights and nothing could be applied . But I DO have admin-rights . The second time I tried to open it , an error came up saying I had to run it manually , which I tried and the admin-rights thing popped up . What AM I doing wrong and how can I fix this ? . My laptop is only a couple months old , so I know it's not insufficient hardware .

If your running it manually try adding a sudo to the commands start

I solved my own problem . I stupidly downloaded the WRONG version of Ubuntu. I originally downloaded the 64bit version , when I shouldve downloaded the 32bit version. When I saw there was a 32 ,I deleted the 64 and installed the 32 . Every problem I had vanished with the change . I can admit I was wrong and it was a stupid move . Geez.....im such a noob.....lol
