I got fed up of Futurelooks so I decided to make a theme that is functional but still looks nice. I have now been using it for nearly a month and haven't found anything which needs tweaking.

https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/29948/Cloudlooks/Untitled.jpg

It's designed so that you can focus on getting things done without anything getting in the way. It's called Cloudlooks and you can get it here:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=91945

If you really like it, Digg it here: http://digg.com/linux_unix/Ubuntu_Gnome_finally_has_a_theme_that_just_works

Enjoy! :)

The window decorations look like Oxygen.

Very nice, though. Especially now that I've been thinking of switching to Gnome, I'll be able to enjoy it.

It looks like Oxygen because I can't find any better buttons to use.

I like the theme, but it would be nice if you provided metacity theme too :D

I wouldn't know where to start with metacity. I only know about emerald and gtk.

What's the icon theme?

It's good but I still prefer hybrid themes because themes as bright as this hurt my eyes after a while. Also, I prefer a solid look than the glossy old murrine.

Whoops. It doesn't seem to break anything, but I'll sort that out. Thanks!

How do other themes not "just work"? ;-)

It kinda looks like kde4, just don't tell the gnome fans that :)

Some themes have usability problems that annoy you more and more until you're forced to change themes again. This was designed to not require any tweaking but still look nice, like the original clearlooks.

Does this theme feel snappier/faster to any of you? Especially people who were using an Aurora theme before... Aurora's apparently slower than Murrine.

Thank you.

The theme is looks really clean and is very usable.

It's the first theme that really works well with Ubuntu 8.10 for me.

I was previously using dust. It feels the same speed to me. Just suits my icons really well! (Eikon2)

I'd use it if there were a Metacity theme for it.

Can't you just download the GTK theme and drop it into Themes in Appearance?

I'll have a go at making one later.

This Metacity theme should probably go well with Cloudlooks :)

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Oxygen-4.1?content=87116

I'm too lazy to download that theme and Cloudlooks to try it (I use Dust and am quite content, though I am somewhat tempted to try Coudlooks)
