The option to choose the desktop language (in login screen) is coming when tried through Live CD but not when I installed Ubuntu.
It only shows, English.

When I'm trying to in to install the language package, Ubuntu is asking me to connect to internet. Why doesn't it take from the CD with which I installed it?

Someone please help me.

Boot Synaptic and click Settings then Repositories then Third-Party Software.

Put a check mark next to Cdrom with Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. If you're using a different version of Ubuntu then the nake of your version will be there instead of 8.04 Hardy Heron.
