Hi,
Thank you for any help in advance.
This is my first time ever using linux of any form. I have heard great things about ubuntu so I thought I'd give it a try. I downloaded ubuntu 8.041 and it installed without any fuss .... very impressive.

Problem:
I have a 9800 gtx video card on my system. I can not enable any of the advanced visual options in ubuntu because there are no uptodate drivers for my card.

I searched the net and came up with beta drivers from nvidia and successfully downloaded them.

The stupid question is, how do I install them. Can someone point me towards a guide that has step by step instructions on how to install drivers of this sort? Or, is there a program that I can download that can take the file and install it?

Thanks,

El

Maybe this link is of some use.

Or try envyNG,

Thank you bulldog :)

I tried envyng. I had problems getting it to appear in the applications menu but the envy site had instructions on what to enable to get it to appear.

Very happy.
