Hello all! I recently built from scratch a new computer with the eventual hope of using it as a server/router. Ive been using ubuntu for a couple of years now so i'm used to linux and its many quirks and i'm fully experienced with building computers and installing OS's.

Back to the problem.. the install keeps hanging just after I click install Ubuntu on both the server and ubuntu 8.04 live CD's. I then tryed the netboot CD as recommended (in this artical http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2007/10/08/how-to-install-ubuntu-locally-over-the-network/) but strangely this seems to hang in the same place!

My basics specs are:
2200MHz AMD processer, 60GB HDD, 1GB RAM a basic CD drive and basic gigabyte motherboard. It seems to run other linux utitlity tools off the CD and the CDs runs in other machines.

I have attached a photo of the point at which it hangs.

Any help really appreciated!

Michael

I might have solved my own problem! It seems is was using the 32bit installer of which im so used to clicking as habbit when I forgot the new processor is 64bit.
