View Full Version : [kubuntu] Strange 'fuzzy' edges on taskbar, bottom of windows

I'm getting odd fuzzy bleed across the top of my task bar where there are icons. Also, an unfocused windows title bar will show odd 'brushed' appearance (and NOT the selected color).

When I use Compiz or Kwin this happens - when I use XFWM4 the effect goes away, though my windows decorations are locked to a gray theme with white buttons.

Any ideas what is going on?

Running a 7600GS Nvidia card with the proprietary nvidia driver.

Can you print screen plz :lolflag:. Sounds abit like something to do with a refresh rate?

I've checked the refresh rates on the board and the monitor - all within spec.

One of the odd things is that the fuzz only appears on the lower half of the screen (an LCD hp pavilion f1903).

In trying to re-create it to take a screen shot, (and which at the moment I can't) I *have* managed to loose my windows title bars. All apps come up without one.

Clearly *something* is corrupt.

So... perhaps the best first step would be to re-install the xwindow environment. What's the best way to do that? Use Adept Manager? Other ways?
