Hi,

I have messed up my kubuntu install over a series of months, In that time i have learnt alot about linux but my xorg.conf file is a mess, i cant get X to work and the bluetooth adapter is not responding.

Really i should sit down and try and figure it all out but instead i tried to upgrade to Intrepid (which looks brill) it sorted a few of the problems out and i managed to fix the xorgconf file a liitle but still couldnt use compiz etc.

So my question is i would like to reinstall the os, problem is i have an m1530 with dual boot running from the media direct key. Can i just insert a live cd and repair the os to its factory state without changing the grub or losing any of my files?

any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Laurence
