grub error 17

i was loading ubuntu on installation and my computer shut off and now showing error 17. i new to this can someone help me.

So you were installing Ubuntu when your computer shut off? If so, I would try reinstalling it, and that will probably fix your Grub error.

ok thanks,i reinstall and on the partiton part it saids root file error

when i go to prepare partitions it says no root file stsem defined. how do i correct that. thank you.

When you set up your partitions in the installer, you have to specify one of them for your main Ubuntu file system, which has mount point of "/". So for whichever partition you want for your main Ubuntu install, just set the mount point on that partition as "/" and you shouldn't get that error.
