When I try to upgrade my ubuntu 8 I get this:

backup and fresh install :( or make a new partition and use that as your new home partition in the new install :) idk sounds odd and you could translate to english 2 lol.

Hehehe sorry I didnt realice that, I want to know what is that comand for, because Im new in ubuntu and I have problems with my wireless conection and I want to know if that comand has something to do with that. the translation is:
