Last night I upgraded a few packages using the update manager icon in the topright of the screen. The next morning I didn't have a working monitor anymore. The packages that were updated were:
linux-image-amd64-generic (and other like it)
linux-restricted-modules-common
xorg-driver-fglrx
I was using the fglrx driver in my xorg.conf. Before this update it was working great, now it's one big mess. I can't get the resolution back to 1920x1200. The biggest resolution that I can get is 1600x1200 and only in with the vesa drivers. The ati and fglrx drivers, both don't work anymore.
I have Ubuntu 8.04.1. An ATI Radeon 3600 video card. And a Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM 24" widescreen display.
My question are these:
Do I need more packages (that aren't uploaded yet)?
Can I revert to previous list of packages (the ones that worked)?
