Hello all,

I recently hooked up an old pc to my Toshiba 52" widescreen tv with HDMI. I just installed 8.04 and downloaded the NVIDIA drivers and have them activated. I have also installed nvidia-settings from the repositories.

However, i can change the resolution but it will not fit the tv. the top and bottom toolbars are out of the screen. I've tried all the "auto" settings and i have gone through each different setting individually. I have made sure that my tv is set to 16:9 but none of it is working.

Please Help. How can i set the desktop to fit in the tv display properly?

Right click on "Applications" and click "Edit Menus". Select Other and check the box "screens and graphics". Then close and click Applications>Other>Screens and Graphics

You'll want to make sure that you can set your resolution to either 720 or 1080 resolution.

720=1280x720
1080=1920×1080
