I’m trying to install ubuntu from a flash stick, I went through the steps mentioned on the website as following:
On my XP machine I had downloaded:
1- The ubuntu iso file (UBUNTU 8.04 LTS)
2- Unetbootin
3- winMD5sum
-Verified the downloaded iso image using winMD5sum
-Burnt the ISO image on my Cruzer 1 GB flash stick using unetbootin
-Done the required changes as following:
1- Deleted the isolinux.cfg file
2- Re-named the isolinux folder to syslinux folder
3- Re-named the isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg
Attached the flash to my Dell Latitude (D505) laptop, and when re-booted, I got the following:
SysLinux 3.71----------- Could not find kernel image : linux
Your suggestions and advise is highly appreciated.
