I'm trying to install Ubuntu, or rather Kubuntu, on a computer with an Intel DG45FC motherboard. There is several problems with this. First of all, the computer doesnt have any optical drive. Second, I think that I need at least kernel 2.6.27rc3 to get the ethernet working. Third, the drives are configured in a lvm+raid system that I have important data on.

I did get a netboot image to boot but that one didnt find my hard drives.

I have been playing around all day to get any installation image to work on a usb memory but I have been unsucessful this far.

Any help would be apreciated. I did get it up and running a few months ago with intrepid but I'm out of ideas now. Nothing works.

(The only other working computer I have is a MacBook with Mac OS X on it.)

I have same card. With kernel update ethernet works but other drivers couldn't be found for ubuntu 8.04. In 8.10 it works with no problem.

Any one knows where to find drivers for 8.04
