Hi all, I am running Hardy 8.04 and am trying to load gdesklets but when I select the application the gdesklets shell launches to a blank screen for around a minute or so then just closes without spiting up a reason for the error?

Has anyone ever come across this or have any idea's?

Thanks in advance!!!

It seems that we have the same problem.

Gdesklets loads an empty/blank "shell" box. the timer spins for less than a minute and then... it's all over. I installed both the gdesklets ''architecture'' and the ''data'' packages.

Has anyone ever found a solution to this. I was pretty excited about some new eye candy... (i get bored easily - ha!)

FYI only: I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex - x86_64) upgraded from 8.04 and Gdesklets works fine, except with the Xirrus Wifi applet (freezes Gdesklet). In Debian Lenny Gdesklets doesn't work. My NB's embedded video card is a VIA Chrome9 and I'm guessing if this can be one of the reasons.

How do you configure to load up the clock ? I am running 8.10 and am configuring at "sessions" to start up the clock desklets feature and it never loads up on its own.

Edit: got it
PS - also loaded "screenlets" like them better :)
