I got a camera (which is working under Windows) and in Ubuntu I get only these two lines into the log file:

Oct 18 12:39:35 ronald-desktop kernel: [73010.178510] usb 2-3.1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 9
Oct 18 12:39:35 ronald-desktop kernel: [73010.315879] usb 2-3.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

How can I proceed to get it recognized as a camera?

bye

R.

It should be automounted when you plug it in. Do you see a new icon on your desktop, or a new Nautilus window?

Use gThumb File->Import Photos option.
