Hello all,

I had downloaded Ubuntu dvd iso image (3.7 Gbyte). I want to configure Ubuntu to install softwares from it rather than the internet, how can I do this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, go to menus System, Administration, Software Sources, uncheck the boxes under 'Downloadable from the Internet', and check the box next to CD-ROM.

Can I install it from hard disk? i.e. to mount the iso image into my DvD?

you have to burn the data as a ISO image on the dvd
the easiest way to do it is use ultraISO if u have windows (might work in wine) and just open the file(s) and burn :) hope this helps :)

It seems it is a MUST to burn it first. :)
Thanks.
