Need help editing my boot menu

This is my my menu.lst and I'm trying to edit my boot menu so it will not ask me to select a kernel but instead go directly to the splash screen.

Can anyone help?

Set 'default' to the Operating system that you want (starting from 0). If you set timeout to 0 it will go straight to the default OS and boot it.

I think that if you uncomment the timeout line, it should go straight to the splash screen after a 10 second wait. If that's too long, you can change the number after timeout to something smaller.

Guys the problem with that method (unless I'm mistaken) is, I cannot hit ESC and get to select which kernel I want if I ever needed to select one.

You methods are work arounds I'm looking for the way it has to be set using the hide menu. Which takes you to the splash screen unless you hit ESC. Setting the time to 0 seconds would prevent me from being able to slect which kernel I wanted if ever a need.
