I was perusing the Windows Sub-forum and saw this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=313543). Regardless as to whether he tells us what happened to it, what do you think happened to Sef's Win 98 First Edition work computer? See Poll.

BTW I think there maybe a service on the background which is causing this problem.

Actually I think it's probably a Bot running as a file server on IRC. Many Win98 machines were doing that without the owner knowing.

Yes, I see the Poll now, it magically appeared.:)

I reckon he gave it to a family of pumpkins, they hollowed it out and put a candle in it

Cool! What a strange concept! I never thought about the possibility of remotely resurrecting a thread from a totally different subforum. Props to you. :D

Ive done this before, but not here. It was on a bicycling forum. It works. ;-) I finally got the answer I needed. ;-) (and I doubt anybody was the wiser...)

Necromancing. I no longer have that computer. I was given another one with XP since that post, but still use the floppy twice a year. Sigh. Some things never change.

What a letdown.
