persistent live cd save packages

I was woundering if a persistent live cd will save installed packages? So if I boot up a persistent live cd and install a packages it will be installed if I reboot?

since you're not using the hard disk and the CD (if you're using a CD) is read only i doubt you would be able to do that. If you were using a live USB stick though i think it would be a different matter.
