I use Calibri on Windows at work, but prefer Tahoma on all of my Linux machines.

Shouldn't this be in the Cafe?

It's Verdana for me too, there's also a wikipedia article on it; whatever floats your boat I suppose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdana

Yes I think you are right, this should be moved to the Cafe section.

Console font: Consolas. Monospaced font with pretty italics. Sometimes Courier 10 pitch.

Sans serif: Frutiger Linotype.

Serif: I usually end up using Deja Vu Serif, Linux Libertine, or Lucida Bright... I don't have a real favourite there.

In general, the Deja Vu fonts seem to have better-than-average Unicode coverage...? Sometimes I need phonetic symbols and such.

Tahoma and Georgia are alright, too. But I'm doing without the Microsoft fonts so websites won't make Konqueror use them in place of my own selection. Also, I'm tired of them by now.

Wouldn't know where to get Calibri.

Deja Vu Sans Condensed, I wish they would release it on its own ( without the condensed) as it gets left out of the font lists on many applications.

sudo apt-get install ttf-liberation

This one gracefully respects my screen real estate.

Courier New for programming work, some form of roman font for homework, and Quake or Neurochrome for stylistic beauty.

My tweaked version of the Quake font (which I've modded to include lowercase letters) is here:

Ever since I saw WIIAN's Glow themes, I have fallen in love with Calibri and it is my favorite font. It seems a bit embarrassing that while I love Calibri in Linux, I completely forgot that it was a Windows font, and I like and use Windows often.

I also like Courier New, Sawasdee, Tuffy, and Franklin Gothic Medium Condensed.
