I followed the install instruction on http://opencircuitdesign.com/magic/
after i did ./configure
it says:
-----------------------------------------------------------

Use 'make' to compile and 'make install' to install.

Errors may not be printed to stdout: see files 'make.log'
and 'install.log' for complete error summary.

when i look into make.log, it says,
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/geng/Desktop/magic-7.5.151'
--- making header file database/database.h
./scripts/makedbh database/database.h.in database/database.h
/bin/bash: ./scripts/makedbh: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [database/database.h] Error 126
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/geng/Desktop/magic-7.5.151'

when i look into install.log, it says

/bin/bash: ./scripts/makedbh: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

Here's a couple of wild suggestions; It seems to be failing because it cannot find "csh"-"C Shell". As far as I know, Ubuntu uses bash for scripts. So try:

a) Install csh
sudo apt-get install csh

OR

b) Change the shell used:
SHELL=/bin/bash ./configure

OR

c) create a link from bash to csh
sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/csh
