ubuntu windows start under taskbar

Whenever I start windows the top of the window appears under the task bar and it gets really annoying to have to move everything out from under it. Any help?

i had the same issue , just go in system then preferences and then apparency
and set the visual effects to none, everything will be ok, then set it back to normal or extra and try to figure out witch settings you touch in there
