I downloaded the latest packages for ubuntu 8.04 which included the new kernel 2.6.24-21 and now my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro) freezees after a few minutes of use. Two leds with lock icons on the lappy start blinking and after that everything goes cold (no keyboard, usb, anything -- total freeze). A cold shutdown by pressing power-off button is required.

I reverted back to the -19 kernel to be able to continue to use Ubuntu.

Any ideas?

I have similar problem. I cannot use anything, because it gives me a white screen. It think new kernel is to blame.

If -19 kernel is working ok, then use -19. Or reinstall Ubuntu. But I suggest you to wait for Ubuntu 8.10. That is what I am going to do. And hope everything is going to be ok.
