As one of the comments puts it, this adds a "Time Machine-esque" function to Solaris, through which a user can specify backup frequency, and when needed browse from available snapshots to restore files.
Very cool recovery feature... Would love to see this in (K)Ubuntu.
I didn't figure this belonged in any specific distro / gnome talk, since it potentially applies outside of Gnome and any specific distro.
