ok firstly hello to everybody, my name is paul and im a linux noob.
My frustration over windows finally made me realise that change is good.
I got my CD in the post today and without hesitation i thought that i would install ubuntu to get rid of windows completely. I have had to reformat recently so windows is all that was on my machine. all i get now tho is a busybox command line.
My question therefore is this what do i need to input on this command line to make it go any further.
i have a 2600 sempron computer on a winfx board with 1gb of RAM. Since installing i get a menu asking me which OS to boot from but when i click on ubuntu i end up with the busybox command line like wise any installation option ( including no change to my computer)
Any suggestions
Paul
after posting this (on another machine in case you were wondering) i installed inside windows and then clicked on the ubuntu install which asked me to press esc for the menu ( this hadnt happened before) and now it appears to be working. thankyou for taking the time to read my post
