I just recently figured out how create custom shortcuts to any app or file using compiz. I made a tutorial which walks you through in setting gnome's performance monitor to come up when you press ctrl+alt+del. Sense i've haven't been able to come acrossed anything for hardy except using metacity instead of compiz. I'm waiting for admin approval on it atm.
