Sometimes when I'm installing an application is Synaptic, I get a debconf GUI window. All seems fine until I press any of the buttons in it: it freezes, fades out to black, and just keeps like that for about 5 minutes, and then it finally continues. This can be very annoying considering that sometimes I can choose some options and every part takes 5 minutes. Example:
Dialog appeared, pressed the help button: 5 minutes
Got help, pressed OK button: 5 minutes
Returned to the main debconf window, pressed Next: 5 minutes
](*,)This alone, as seen, takes 15 minutes. Can someone please explain to me why does this happen? I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1 with debconf 1.5.20.
