I would go and get deb files and a popup would say that the associated program doesnt work or something like that. Well, I would get other deb files and it would work. Also ubuntu tweak home page is block on my computer some how. I dont have it blacklisted, it comes up with google as malious.

This is the pop up I get

/tmp/ubuntu-tweak_0.4.0.1-1~ppa1_all.deb could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.

hmm, strange.
to see if its just gdebi go into synaptic and try to install kpackage.
kpackage will allow you to install things the same way gdebi does for the most part.

ok, but it is strang. I have never had this problem and also that the ubuntu tweak home page is blocked because it is malious.

This is a bug in Firefox due to the way some sites are configured. Save the package somewhere first then try to install it with GDebi.
