Ubuntu Live CD Install

I am tryin to install ubuntu os on my computer.....i currently have xp pro......when i try to boot from live cd nothing happens....i trid lookin at my BIOS alrady....everything looks good...do i need to create a partion.....help...

2 things.

1) Did you BURN the ISO image of Ubuntu that you downloaded or did you copy it as DATA ? It must be BURNED to the CD as an image.

2) Do you have your CD-rom drive set as the first boot device in your BIOS ?

man i got it poppin.....i like it so far.....**** i messed up tho.....when i maked my paritions or whatever i deleted my old os....xp pro.....i might now make the switch back.....
