Well, it looks like BMPx is mostly dead. I found this post on Last.FM:

http://www.last.fm/group/BMPx/forum/28430/_/362915/1#f5505205

The main developer says that BMPx "will not receive major updates in the future". What a shame! If BMPx didn't crash on me every time I tried to listen to a radio station and if I could set its "Albums" column to display just the albums (and not the artists AND albums, which is asinine), it would be perfect.

It looks like MPX, aka Audiosource, will be the successor to BMPx:

It doesn't look like many people know about this yet. What do you think? Can you get it to work? I couldn't get the provided alpha to compile...it gives me some weird errors when I try to "make".

This is what happens when people folk projects for no real good reason, they should join up and make a fully functional music player not folk off it because this is exactly what happens.

Now we have no more bmpx and yet another name for basically what XMMS was.

Speaking of forking projects for no good reason, it was not very sensible to name this MPX which a two second Google search tells us is the name of a project for multi pointer XInput (http://wearables.unisa.edu.au/mpx/).

So this project has achieved two things so far:
-Further crowded the already jam packed Linux media player market.
-Confused anybody interested in the very worthy endeavour of having multiple mice with individual pointers on one X server and multitouch supported across the desktop including on legacy applications.

When I saw the name "Audiosource" I was expecting some kind of magical air mouse style input device that used high pitched sounds and desktop microphones, which could be used in groups. Alas, no :(

Other than that, I suppose the low resource folks amongst us are happy. It looks pretty. Does it come with the GTK theme?
