Ah, finally. We are back online. It seems like no one has posted! Ack! Shame to all those who kept flooding the server with requests (shame to me, too).

Stop using the reload every firefox extention, and it won't crash. ;)

The forums are not back. This is a figment of your imagination. Everyone please turn back to their televisions and enjoy the feature presentation.

Let's just hope this sort of thing doesn't happen right after Intriped is released... :|

I think you can count on downtime :) The database server wigged out with a query which caused the loads to hit 366+ tonight. I'll be monitoring the server for a bit trying to find the root cause of the situation.

They took the forums offine to change the thanks button...it doesn't look appealing to me, it doesn't fit in with the other buttons.

Oh gosh... Well, I hope you find the problem :)

No, you misunderstood. The downtime was completely unintentional and I suppose the changed thanks button is an unwanted side effect

The thanks button needs better integration with the other ones...

EDIT: Forget this, it has changed.

There is a new thank you button, its a medal (award) with a plus sign. Expect new icons and theme in the coming months. You may have to clear your cache or force a reload on the page to see the new image for the thank you button.

I don't get what you all are talking about. It still looks the same for me...

For a few minutes, there was a big, somewhat ugly thanks buttons with a big thumb up in it. The new medal is more appealing.

It looks like this (for us anyway?)

It looks too out of place.

I can see the medal now. Before it was text with thanks and a graphic of a 'one thumb up'.

I think its purpose is to make it more obvious to newbies to the forum, who get help but don't thanks because they're not aware that they can. Can't blame them. A gold medal isn't exactly too obvious, and was too small to see a lot of the time.

Hmm... why did they change it?

That's what I had to do, to see the new one.

ubuntu-geek

Hmm... why did they change it?
Because I accidentally overwrote the old one with the default icon and it was purple and ugly. This was a better choice.
