I'm trying to get ubuntu running on a computer i just put together and the CD isn't being detected when i start the machine up. I tried my copy of windows vista and it was detected and able to boot from CD. I have burned the DVD correctly, it launches just fine on other computers. I have also tried both a Gutsy gibbon release and the latest Hardy Heron version.

I'm considering installing vista and then ubuntu from there, i'm not sure how smooth that would be though. The computer is for my mother, i hope she likes linux, thanks guys.
