View Full Version : [mythbuntu] Some Samba management advice

Hi. I am new to Ubuntu and Gnome/xfce environment, having come from many years using Redhat and Mandriva with KDE desktop, and enlightenment before that.

I have just put together a Mythbuntu system and would like to manage my Samba shares better. What do other users use? can you recommend a package.

I use Webmin on my Fedora server, but that is a bit much for the Myth system.

I have used smb4k in the past, but I don't really want to bloat the system with KDE stuff I don't really need.

And for SWAT, well, I am being lazy, cannot be bothered setting up SWAT.

Can you please recommend what you use, if it is not in the above list.

Actually, yknow, your right. Probably quicker to scroll down the conf file than to set up swat, that could be why I never liked it.
I used to do it that way, might return to vi I think. Amazing how some kool tools can make you really lazy over time.
And it'll scare the windows users ... he he :)
