I can't download the alternate CD for 8.10 (Ibex). I mean to download the alternate CD rather than the live CD so I can upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 since the live CD's don't support the upgrade function (you either run live or install -- no upgrade). I click on the link and it goes on for about an hour looking like it's OK, but eventually it fails and says the download failed because it can't read the file. Anyone have any ideas of how to download it? I'm using Firefox browser in http mode. Maybe there's an FTP link? Or maybe use IE7 to do the download? Please if anyone has had the same problem, how did you fix it?

I always download mine as torrents - gets checked as it goes, never had a bad one. Available on same page - http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/

Torrent links are
64bit (http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/ubuntu-8.10-beta-alternate-amd64.iso.torrent)
32bit (http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/ubuntu-8.10-beta-alternate-i386.iso.torrent)

There are a few ftp links (Asia) on this page http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/beta

Thanks pixie. I got it and burned it and installed it. Worked a lot better than the http download -- a lot quicker. My Firefox isn't configured to remember where a download was when it failed. (Got spotty connection here.) So every time I re-tried it started over. Torrents can restart and it's a lot quicker.
