Hi, i have a Sony Vaio model pcvrx550, with a MB Asus P4B-LX, Pentium 4 1.5ghz , 1gb of ram, XFX Nvidia 6200FX 256Mb, etc etc, i install Ubuntu 8.04 and the fan of the cpu doesn't slow down speed after log in ubuntu, in windows i have to install a program that came with the cd of vaio drivers, and when log to windows the fan speed slow down! how can install something to fix that!
Another thing when i go to enable the video card in System>Administration>Hardware Drivers
it gave me this error
W: Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24/nvidia-glx-new_169.12+2.6.24.13-18.41_i386.deb
404 Not Found
i see in this post something similar but it doesn't fix my problem
