Hi all,

I'm completely new to ubuntu and am very interested in installing it so i can duel boot with vista. I just wanted to know, while installing ubuntu does it let you play about with partitions, i've got about 24 GB free unallocated space on my hard disc for it i 've been following the instructions on installing it but can't find how to create the swap space, or format the rest of the space to Ext3 i think it is, do you do this during the installation of ubuntu or will i have to find a third party partitioning tool to do it.

Thanks for your patience with an utter noob.

If you want to use all the allocated space there should be an option when your installing to install everything on it. Also It would correctly install all the partitions needed automatically. And if you want to format it yourself there's also an option to do that while installing Ubuntu.
