xp remote desktop

Not sure if this is the correct thread co there are so many sections.

anyway i would like to remote desktop to an XP machine any suggestions??

i have installed rdesktop
but thats a CLI? does that only give me dos access?
i tried
$ rdesktop host
but that give me the error
"ERROR: host: unable to resolve host"
I can remote from both my XP machines into it np.
this would allow me to delete XP as i could remote and do anything i cant do on linux while im setting said ability up in linux.

Ive resovled this it seems i have to use ip no host name.
