I recently installed ubuntu and set up a raid0 array which works just fine. My question relates to the structure of the partitions I set up. I have the raid array mounted on /usr (around 200 GB, ext3). I also have identical ext3 file systems set up on the hard drives, mounted on /root and /home (about 5 GB each), respectively. I also have swap partitions (4 GB each drive) set up. Does it make any difference to ubuntu how I have my system partitioned? Would I be better off partitioning the raid array so its mounted on /? What's the best way to partition this system?
Thanks in advance.
