Am not sure what project your talking about but if you need a media center application i would use - http://xbmc.org (http://xbmc.org/)

I would pick boxee.

Sorry to go off topic, but I would love a chance to try out boxee! I have been hearing good things.

Haven't heard anything about it since that article that was posted on digg a few months ago...

There are tons of options. I prefer LinuxMCE http://linuxmce.com/ It's based of Kubuntu. The interface is sleek.

I have an old ubuntu PC connected to my TV, and im loving this xbmc software. It even plays .avi video smoothly as it chops in vlc and gxine.

I prefer to just use upnp to connect my media to my ps3 - makes my friends jealous and lets me have an awesome media centre where I can still use the PC to browse the web or whatever.
