Graphic card problems

Hey

I have a ati x1600 mobile graphic card. I downloaded and installed the drivers, but the games still run very very bad. They lag so much that it is unplayable, eventho the graphic options is at the lowest and they dont have to be because my graphic is not slow!

Anyone who can help me? Im new at Linux and dont know what the problem could be.

did you use envy to install it the way i did my geforce card was to goto the applications then add/remove the type geforce then it downloaded the driver and a picture of a pci card came between the clock i clicked and ticked the geforce box restarted and the screen came up properly

I no yours is ati but maybe you can do it the same way i can play *******$ games via cedega and wine ok

I can also do the desktop effects with out any problems
Can you do desktop effects?
