Can i install Ubuntu from the HARD Disk

Hello All

I have an old leptop - Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook P1120:
Processor: Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 (800 MHz);
RAM installed: 256 MB SDRAM;
Weight: 2.2 lbs;
Display: 8.9 in TFT active matrix;
VGA CARD : ATI Radeon M6 Video.
sound card: ALI+ STAC9757 Audio
Wlan: Intersil Wireless Lan
OS provided: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Preinstalled)

The problem that this computer dose not come with CD.
I would like to install Xubuntu/Ubuntu from my hard disk
can i do it some how?
can i delete windows while i install ubuntu?
will ubuntu identify my touch screen?

i would think that you would have to use the usb port. Either an external cd drive or you can boot off of a thumb drive, though i don't know how.

I can't use USB or Any other device which conects to the USB.
Becouse the leptop support booting only from USB 1.1 (and dose not boot if i have USB 2.2 plug in).
I must install the LINUX from the hard disk.

Try the WUBI Ubuntu installer....

Installs Ubuntu just like a program in Windows (uninstallable through Add/Remove Programs) and CAN be made into a regular hard drive install.....

No You can't get rid of windows. Wubi is just an application that lets you install ubuntu into a windows directory. Windows has to be there.
