Syncing PortableApps with Ubuntu?

Since I picked up the book Lifehacker, I've been trying the various tips and tricks held therein. One of them is setting up the PortableApps suite on a USB drive, which I've done on my iPod. While it works fine on my Windows partition, I naturally can't use it on my Ubuntu partition.

I'm wondering, though: Is there any way I can sync my user profiles for the various main apps (Firefox, Thunderbird) on Ubuntu with those on PortableApps?

Portable apps from portableapps.com usually work fine in Wine.

In fact, I used to use them in wine so I could watch movies and flash back before I had the internet at home :-)
