View Full Version : [ubuntu] My computer won't shut down properly after deleting gutenprint

When I try to shut down or restart, everything from the screen disappears, but the background. And it stays that way. All that responds is the mouse pointer, but none of the mouse buttons. If I then push ctr alt backspace, it shuts down as normal.

This either started after I tried to configure my printer. I was told to install the latest Gutenprint beta, but before that, delete what was already there. I opened Synaptic, searched for gutenprint, and deleted what I thought to be correct.
Or it started when I installed Keytouch.

I am a Linux/Ubuntu newcomer running Hardy Heron:P

How do I fix this problem? What other information do you require?

Thank you

Mads

Solution:
Uninstall Keytouch (System -> Administration -> Synaptic package manager. Search for Keytouch and remove them) You have to restart at least one time for it to take effect.

I hope this helps someone.
