Im planing to install ubuntu or xubuntu to my friends computer that is a pure junk. Now by Junk I mean less then 500Mhz CPU, integrated card (32MB), and less then 200MB Physical memory. As he is planing to get an DSL account, I suggested him to let me install him one of the Linuxes. As he saw how Ubuntu looks like, and what it can do, he was stunned. Now cause hes machine cant handle newest Ubuntus, Hardy and other, till 5th one, Im asking is it possible for old ubuntus to be updated. With their own source or from sources for new ubuntus.
And cause Im not sure, what is the latest ubuntu that this machine can handle, according by systeminfo that I have put on beginning.

It deepends on what you are doing with the machine. E.g. this machine would be way to much for playing nethack.

Did you give Fluxbuntu a try? Does it run okay on this machine?

You are correct that Ubuntu is much too "heavy" for your friend's computer. Is he an experienced Ubuntu user? If yes, Fluxbuntu is probably the only 'Buntu that will work well on that computer. If not, you'd be doing him a big favor by choosing a non-Ubuntu distro, such as Puppy, SliTaz, or DSL, that will actually give him decent (not fast, but decent) performance.

Tanks a lot guys... That was enough info I need, where can I find Puppy, DSL or whatever were those, is there official site... What interface are they using. Ok dont need to answer that, just tell me how are they being installed. Do they stey on H.Drive or they are all LiveCD editions, or just USB drives.

I'd suggest you start with Puppy http://www.puppylinux.org as it is fairly user-friendly.
